The FDA has not approved Clenbuterol tablet for human use. The liquid form of the drug is approved by the FDA for the treatment of airway obstruction in horses.
Outside the USA, Clenbuterol is only available by prescription for the treatment of asthma. It is sometimes prescribed to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Clenbuterol is not a steroid, but it does have some properties similar to anabolic steroids eg. B. promotion of increased muscle mass. Due to these properties, Clenbuterol is used in animal husbandry to increase the amount of muscle mass.
The drug is still found in beef after being slaughtered, causing disease in Europe and Asia. Therefore, the US and Europe are monitoring tissue samples from farm animals for the presence of clenbuterol.
Recently, Clenbuterol has also been seen as a supplement to street drugs such as heroin.
